DESCRIPTION:What is better than watching the sunset over Weeks Bay while enjoying fresh Gulf shrimp and listening to awesome music? Not much\, which is why the Weeks Bay Foundation wants you to mark your calendar for the 8th annual Bald Eagle Bash\, April 22 from 4-7 p.m. This Party for Preservation helps raise money and awareness for the Foundation's mission of protecting coastal wetlands.\n\n\n\nThis "taste of Weeks Bay" event brings more than a dozen area restaurants together to create dishes based on delicious Gulf shrimp. Each chef prepares a signature dish that is sure to delight all participants. Some of the dishes from past years include shrimp and grits\, shrimp ceviche\, jalapeno shrimp sliders and shrimp stuffed mashed potatoes.\n\nAnd while seafood is the main attraction\, for a second year in a row The Mulligan Brothers will take the stage\, giving the crowd a chance to dance the evening away to this local Americana favorite. This group's popularity has soared since last year's event\, as has their audience. From Ireland to 30A\, The Mulligan Brothers (and now a sister has been added) are making a name for themselves with their mix of alternative country\, folk and bluegrass.\n\n"The Bald Eagle Bash is a great family friendly event that showcases local seafood and local musical talent in a setting that cannot be beat." Ellis Allen\, Weeks Bay Foundation Board Chairman said. "Many attendees come by boat and families fish off the pier while everybody enjoys the food\, the music and the sunset."\n\nOrganizers said the 2016 Bash had a record 14 restaurants participating\, so they have increased the limit to 17 this year to allow more restaurants the chance to showcase their chefs and expose more people to their restaurants.
