Baldwin Preparatory Academy Opens New School Year with Expanded Career Programs and First Three-Year

Loxley, Ala. (August 2026) - As students across Baldwin County head back to school, Baldwin Preparatory Academy is beginning a milestone year with expanded career opportunities, new industry credentials and the arrival of 233 incoming 10th-grade students, ready to prepare for college, careers, and Baldwin County’s growing workforce.

The 2026–2027 school year also brings new opportunities in health science, cosmetology and drone technology, along with expanded dual-enrollment options through Coastal Alabama Community College. These additions reflect Baldwin Prep’s continued commitment to combining a strong academic foundation with hands-on, career-focused experiences that prepare students for college, the workplace or a skilled career after graduation.

In Health Science, students can now take a new Nursing 112 dual-enrollment course and participate in a Pharmacy Technician program, combining classroom instruction with hands-on training while earning college credit and industry credentials. Also new to the curriculum is a Drone Program with drone licensing and programming opportunities, allowing students to develop skills in drone flight, sensor data and autonomous technology.

Beginning in September, the Cosmetology Program will be open to the public every Monday, giving students real-world experience working with clients while preparing for careers as licensed cosmetologists or barbers. Together, these new offerings provide students with opportunities to develop technical skills, earn credentials and gain the professional experience needed to succeed in today’s workforce.

“We are excited to welcome our students back for another year of learning, growth and opportunity,” said Adam Sealy, Principal of Baldwin Preparatory Academy. “Our goal is to give students the education, skills and real-world experiences to build their own future. This year’s motto, ‘Today’s Classroom! Tomorrow’s Workforce! Career – College – Choice,’ reflects our commitment to preparing every student for what comes next. Whether they choose to pursue college, a career or enter the workforce, we want them to leave Baldwin Prep with the confidence, professionalism and hands-on experience they need to succeed.”

Baldwin Prep Academy recently graduated its first class to complete all three years of high school at the school. During the 2025–2026 academic year, 564 students participated in dual enrollment through Coastal Alabama Community College and earned 106 industry-recognized credentials. By continually listening to industry partners and adapting its programs, Baldwin Prep ensures students develop the technical, professional and personal skills employers need. Graduates are recognized for their professionalism, communication, work ethic and willingness to learn, helping prepare them for success in college, careers and the workforce. For Baldwin County, the partnership helps develop a skilled workforce aligned with local employer needs.

The school’s approximately 200,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility includes classrooms, training areas and collaborative spaces designed around academic and industry-specific immersion. Throughout their time at BPA, students are also introduced to workplace expectations, including the importance of wearing industry-specific uniforms and developing essential skills such as time management, accountability, professionalism, and other qualities valued by employers. The approach is designed to give students choices, whether their next step is a four-year college, community college, technical training, military service, entrepreneurship or directly entering the workforce.

As a new school year begins, Baldwin Prep continues its mission of connecting education, career preparation and the needs of the Baldwin County community. By giving students the skills, experience and choices to pursue their own path, Baldwin Prep is preparing today’s students to become tomorrow’s workforce.
