LOCAL SINGERS WIN REGIONAL VOCAL COMPETITIONS

Tuscaloosa, AL – Students from The Studio competed against over 400 students from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands in the National Association of Teachers of Singers (NATS)’s Southeastern Regional competition this past month.

Eight local students received top placements in both the Commercial Music and Musical Theatre categories:

Mary Claire Kelley (Rockwell Elementary) placed 1st both in the Kids Commercial Music and Kids Musical Theatre categories.

Ford Macklem (Fairhope East Elementary) placed 2nd in the Kids Musical Theatre category.

Nia Faith (Daphne East Elementary) placed 3rd in the Kids Musical Theatre category.

Brady Mae Birdsong (Belforest Elementary) and Priscilla Simmons (Summerdale Elementary) tied for 4th in the Kids Musical Theatre category.

Wynter Marlow (Fairhope Elementary) placed 1st in the Youth Commercial Music category and 3rd in the Youth Musical Theatre category.

Adalyn Lyles (Robertsdale High) and Madison Smith (Spanish Fort High) tied for 4th in the Lower High School Musical Theatre category.

These students advance to compete for their share of over $84,000 at the National Student Auditions during the 58th NATS National Conference in Knoxville, TN this Summer.

Additionally, the following students did not advance to the National Student Auditions, but were honored as Regional SemiFinalists: Addie Bolton (Spanish Fort Elementary), Ree Gibson (Fairhope Middle), Sara Barr (Renaissance School), Lily Melton (Daphne High), Portia Hollis (Gulf Shores High), Lily Grace Gordon (Homeschool), Mary Carlisle Collins (Spanish Fort High), and Molly Hughes (Bayside Academy).

The Studio, located in Daphne, is an award-winning educational performing arts studio that offers one-on-one lessons in acting, dance, guitar, piano, stage makeup, violin, and voice from degreed, working professionals in the performing arts industry.
