Baldwin Girls Build Camp Returns for its Second Year, Empowering Young Minds in Construction

DAPHNE, AL –The Professional Women in Building (PWB) council, a vital arm of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association (BCHBA), is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated Baldwin Girls Build camp for its second annual installment. Set to take place from June 3rd to June 7th, the camp aims to inspire and empower young girls by providing hands-on exposure to the diverse opportunities within the construction industry.

With a mission to foster labor and workforce development, PWB has emerged as a trailblazer in promoting diversity in a traditionally male-dominated field. The success of last year’s inaugural camp, which hosted 18 enthusiastic 7th, 8th and 9th grade girls, served as a testament to the growing demand for initiatives that transcend traditional gender roles.

Under the leadership of a dedicated chairperson and a board comprising of influential women, including Marsha Jordan, BCHBA Executive Vice President, Stephanie Hale from Coastal Stone, Nancy Grace from Bank Plus, Alicia Stone from Swift Supple, Jennifer Valere from Valere Homes, and Amy Smith from Engel & Volkers, PWB is poised to make this year’s camp even more impactful.

Registration for the Baldwin Girls Build camp was full in less than 24 hours, underscoring the community’s eagerness to participate in initiatives that empower young girls and break down barriers in the construction industry. The camp promises to offer a comprehensive curriculum, including hands-on building activities, insightful workshops, and engaging mentorship opportunities. As preparations for the Baldwin Girls Build camp gather momentum, excitement mounts among participants, volunteers and sponsors alike.

The camp represents a unique opportunity for young girls to explore their interests, unlock their potential and chart their own paths to success in a field ripe with opportunity. About Professional Women in Building
