Along the way we will get a once-in-a- lifetime chance to get a close waterside view of the venerable SS United States\, the fastest ocean liner to ever cross the Atlantic and the largest passenger ship ever built entirely in this country. The decommissioned 1950s liner\, recently arrived from Philadelphia\, is temporarily undergoing work in a drydock facility as preparations are made for it to be sunk in the Gulf as an artificial reef. We will cruise by\, sharing stories about this remarkable vessel\, a true icon of American maritime heritage. WE WILL NOT BE BOARDING THE SS UNITED STATES ON THE CRUISE.
