Description
In part two of our educational series, we will talk about and taste four different grape varietals traditionally found in France. Some of these grapes will be familiar while others will become your new favorites. Our trip will begin in Alsace where we drink Sparkling Pinot Noir from this mountainous area. After Alsace, we journey to Macon where we visit the commune Macon-Charnay and taste his oldest vines of chardonnay, under his “Franclieu” bottling. Next on our road trip is a detour in Beaujolais with a glass of Gamay in the cru of Saint Amour. Then we finish our trip over a glass of Malbec in the home of this varietal, Cahors.
