Fairhope brokerage earns statewide recognition for its innovative approach to real estate, investment in agent success, and commitment to community service.
FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA — Ashurst Niemeyer Real Estate has been named the 2026Brokerage of the Year by the Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) in the Medium Size Brokerage class. The prestigious honor was announced Monday evening, October 19, during the association's annual conference at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama.
For Ashurst Niemeyer, a family owned boutique brokerage rooted in Fairhope, the recognition reflects a commitment to preserving the values of a traditional, relationship driven company while continually embracing new ideas, and opportunities to serve others.
Founded in 2009 by Judy Niemeyer and her son, Morgan Ashurst, the company carries forward a family real estate legacy dating to 1971. Together, they have built a brokerage where professional excellence, personal relationships, lifelong learning, and community involvement are central to the company's culture.
“We've always believed that being a great company means doing more than selling houses,”said Morgan Ashurst, Qualifying Broker and Co-owner. “It means investing in our people, continuing to learn, and finding meaningful ways to give back. This award is a reflection our agents who share those values and put them into practice every day.”
Honoring Tradition While Embracing Innovation
While Ashurst Niemeyer's roots span generations, its approach to real estate is decidedly forward thinking. Under the leadership of Judy and Morgan, the company has cultivated a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, encouraging agents to embrace emerging technologies and new ways of serving clients.
Recognizing the growing role of artificial intelligence in real estate, the brokerage has a Certified AI Specialist on its team to help develop tools, enhance productivity, and guide the responsible adoption of AI technology. The company's approach emphasizes that technology should supportthe expertise, personal relationships, and professional judgment of a REALTOR®.
Education, mentorship, and individual agent support are equally important. Many professional development opportunities are also open to REALTORS® from other brokerages, reflecting a belief that collaboration strengthens the entire real estate community.
Bringing REALTORS® Together for a Greater Cause
That spirit of collaboration was on full display in August when Ashurst Niemeyer hosted its first annual Ice Cream Social and School Supply Drive in downtown Fairhope. The event brought REALTORS® from competing brokerages together with clients, community partners, and residents to collect backpacks and school supplies for Baldwin County children in need.
The brokerage's community involvement also includes support for Prodisee Pantry, The Exceptional Foundation, Waterfront Rescue Mission, Impact 100 Baldwin County, and the Eastern Shore Art Center.
“I've always believed the most important thing we can do is care about people,” said Judy Niemeyer, Broker and Co Owner. “That includes our clients, our agents, our fellow REALTORS®, and our community. Seeing everyone come together to help local children is a wonderful example of what we can accomplish together.”
A Legacy of Leadership and Service
Judy and Morgan's commitment to the profession extends well beyond their own brokerage.
Both have contributed decades of leadership and service to local and state REALTOR® organizations. The brokerage's agents continue that tradition through volunteer leadership, professional education, advocacy, and community service.
“This recognition is an incredible honor, but it also inspires us to keep getting better,”Morgan added. “We're grateful for our agents, our clients, and our community, and we're excited about what we can accomplish together in the years ahead.”
