Fairhope, Ala. – The Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance (BCEDA) is pleased to announce the return of Lee Johnson to the BCEDA team as executive vice president of economic development. In this role, Johnson will assist in managing the organization and economic development efforts. He previously served as project manager for BCEDA in the past, specializing in business development.

“We are excited to have Lee rejoin the team at the Alliance,” says Lee Lawson, president and CEO of BCEDA. “The experience that he brings with him and his existing knowledge of Baldwin County will greatly increase our capacity at the Alliance. Lee will open new doors for us and allow for new growth opportunities for Baldwin County.”

Johnson joins the Alliance after recently serving as senior manager of field operations for Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, he managed TVA’s 15 regional development consultants working to help attract and retain jobs and investment across the seven-state TVA region. In this role, Johnson also managed TVA’s economic development technical services team, overseeing six team members who provide site evaluation, engineering support and other technical services to TVA communities and prospective companies.

Prior to this role, he worked as a target market specialist for TVA Economic Development. Johnson’s primary role was recruiting companies to locate and expand in TVA’s seven-state region. He was also responsible for TVA’s Asian foreign-direct investment strategy.

“I am honored to rejoin the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance,” says Johnson. “Baldwin County has become like home and I am excited for the opportunity to help further the organization and community’s economic development efforts. Baldwin County has seen truly impressive growth and I look forward to supporting the organization, partners and the region in continuing this trend.”

Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in economic development from the University of Southern Mississippi. He resides in Fairhope with his wife, Amber, and daughter, Max.
