Mobile Ballet opens its 2025-2026 season

MOBILE, AL – Mobile Ballet opens its 2025-2026 season with a groundbreaking premiere on Saturday, November 1, presenting the new ballet adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera at Mobile's historic Saenger Theatre.

Each production this season tells a different kind of love story – the passion of Phantom, the innocent wonder of Clara's journey, and Cinderella's belief in transformation,” says Mobile Ballet Artistic Director Katia Garza. “Creating The Phantom of the Opera as a ballet has been a dream project for me. Since Mobile Ballet will be performing at the Saenger Theatre until our new home is built, I wanted to design productions that highlight the beauty and
character of this historic venue.”

Garza's Phantom adaptation draws inspiration from the original novel, the play, and the film, but reimagines the story through the art of dance. This isn't a dark version of the story; instead, audiences will experience stunning visual effects, beautiful music, and powerful choreography weaving together love, drama, and mystery. I want this ballet to be accessible and meaningful for all audiences and all ages – a celebration of storytelling through
movement.
