The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program would like to share an important leadership update with you all.
Following a national search led by the MBNEP Executive Committee, Jason Kudulis has been selected to serve as the program's next Director and will begin in this role on February 1, 2026.
Jason has been with the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program for 10 years, most recently serving as Deputy Director, where he has worked closely with our staff, partners, and communities to advance restoration projects, improve water quality, and strengthen coastal resilience across the rejoin. A Mobile native, Jason brings deep institutional knowledge, strong collaborative leadership, and a long-standing commitment to protecting Alabama's coastal resources.
This transition also marks the conclusion of an impactful chapter under the leadership of Roberta Swann. Roberta's dedication, vision, and leadership helped guide MBNEP through years of progress and partnership, and we are deeply grateful for her service and lasting contributions to program and our coastal communities.
As MENEP looks ahead, Jason's Leadership will build on this strong foundation while guiding the program's work in the years to come. We remain committed to working alongside our partners to implement science-based solutions that protect and restore Mobile Bay and Alabama's estuaries, support resilient communities, and sustain the economic and environmental value of our coast.
Thank you for your contined partnership and support. We look forward to continuing this important work together.
Sincerely,
Mobile Bay National Estuary Program
