Baldwin REALTORS® Book Drive Successfully Benefits 15 Local Senior Living Communities

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – Last month Baldwin REALTORS® Community Service Committee held a book drive to benefit Baldwin County nursing homes, care facilities, and assisted living communities. REALTOR® members were asked by the committee to bring in new or gently-used books – including children’s books, word searches and magazines – to be sorted and distributed to 15 senior living locations.

"Our committee has a heart for the senior citizen community, especially those in private facilities, as we know their realities have changed since the pandemic,” said Rachel Miller, Baldwin REALTORS® Community Service Committee Chairperson. “It was wonderful to see our REALTORS® respond to the call! Because of all the donations from different offices, we raised over 1,100 books to disperse to the nursing homes and care facilities – and we were able to help the Foley Public Library with their request for book donations. The communities were touched by the level of generosity.”

As an office, Elite Real Estate Solutions Gulf Coast donated the greatest number of books to the drive. “My agents are always willing to step up and help in the community. We all live in the communities we serve, and it is so important to not just live here,” said Elite Gulf Coast’s broker, Sherry Roberts. “It is our responsibility to have personal relationships within our community so we can be the foundation for it. We want the public to know we are here for them whether it is buying, selling, volunteering or simply a resource for questions. We are not just REALTORS®, we are your neighbors!

Baldwin REALTORS®’ 2022 Community Service Committee accomplished several projects this year to the benefit of Baldwin County residents – including a “Back to School” supplies drive that raised over $5,000-worth of school supplies for 8 Baldwin County schools, multiple service days at Prodisee Pantry, and partnering with Alabama Coastal Foundation to clean the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores. “I am so proud of this group for championing the message that REALTORS® are Good Neighbors,” said Miller. “Our impact is always greater when we join together and put others first.”
