Spring Hill College MSN Program Receives Full Accreditation

(Mobile, Ala.) Spring Hill College is pleased to announce the master’s degree program in nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), http://www.ccneaccreditation.org. This accreditation allows students enrolled in nursing programs to have a direct path to earning a master’s degree. The College currently offers Entry-Level BSN, RN TO BSN, and now MSN. The RN-BSN and MSN programs are only online to allow the students to participate when their individual schedules allow.

CCNE serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. Accreditation by CCNE indicates confidence in the parent institution's ability to offer a program of quality, deserving of public approbation. The length of the accreditation process varies by program. It is thorough, and detailed and can last anywhere from 12 to 18 months.

“We are thrilled that our initial accreditation has been approved for our MSN program,” said  Kathy Sheppard, PhD, RN, Associate Provost for Community Partnerships. “This will allow us to continue providing the very best online education for our students and have them prepared for success as they continue their education towards doctoral degrees.”

The college’s BSN program remains the top Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) program in the state of Alabama. RNCareers.org gave the top ranking to the nursing program stating “Spring Hill College ranked #1 in Alabama and is one of the best nursing schools in the nation, with an impressive average NCLEX passing rate of 94.74% for the ranking period over the last year.” The College’s Nursing Division has also been awarded the #1 BSN program in the state of Alabama among all four-year colleges and universities from registerednursing.org.
