HABAGC Awards Six Scholarships to Students from Hispanic Heritage
 

MOBILE, Ala., July 26, 2023 - The Hispanic American Business Association of the Gulf Coast will be holding the 2023 Scholarship Ceremony on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 6:30pm at the Aviation College campus of Coastal Alabama Community College, at the Brookley Aeroplex. Six outstanding students from Hispanic Heritage will be honored. For the past 13 years, HABAGC has provided scholarships for college/secondary/technical education for students with Hispanic roots in the Mobile and Baldwin counties.    

The recipients of the 2023 scholarships are: 

  • Patricia Socorro – Will start at the University of South Alabama with a goal to be a bilingual dentist. 
  • Felix Raul Torres – Studying A&P Mechanic at the Aviation College 
  • Macayle Miller – Will study Health Sciences at USA with a goal to pursue a Physical Therapy degree 
  • Mia Uribe – Starts at the University of South Alabama in Biology/premed 
  • Braulio Steven Carballo-Ramirez – Accepted in the University of South Alabama pursuing a degree in Engineering. 
  • Miranda N. Santiago- Pursuing a degree in Business Management at the University of South Alabama. 

The Hispanic American Business Association of the Gulf Coast is a nonprofit professional organization involved in programs and projects that contribute to our area’s diversity, quality of life, economic and workforce development. HABAGC organizes the Mobile Latin Fest, business, educational and networking activities. The organization has embarked in a workforce/economic development project for food entrepreneurs and will open a nonprofit Continental Commissary Shared Kitchen Incubator in September.
