The Auburn University College of Human Sciences’ Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies will feature Don Tebbe, Leadership Succession Consultant and Author, and Ginna Goodenow, CEO and Founder of Dragonfly Central, Inc. in its February virtual program titled “Legacy Leadership: Planning for the Future, Today.” The session will take place via Zoom on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 10:30–12:00 p.m. CST. Don Tebbe is a leadership succession consultant and author of Chief Executive Transitions: How to Hire and Support a Nonprofit CEO, published by BoardSource, and The Nonprofit CEO Succession Roadmap: Your Guide for the Journey to Life’s Next Chapter. As a former nonprofit executive director and five-time interim CEO, he has experienced executive succession and transitions firsthand. Since starting his consulting practice in 1993, he has helped hundreds of nonprofit leaders plan for leadership succession and manage turnover in their chief executive position.
Ginna Goodenow is the CEO and founder of Dragonfly Central, Inc., a national nonprofit consulting firm she launched in 2004. For more than two decades, she has advised nonprofit organizations on executive search, leadership transitions, succession planning, organizational sustainability, and executive coaching. Ginna has served as lead consultant on nearly 600 executive transition and search engagements and has worked with organizations ranging from emerging startups to global institutions. Through her work, she has partnered closely with thousands of nonprofit leaders navigating change, growth, and transformation across a wide range of missions, including health equity, disability services, housing and homelessness, racial and social justice, education, environmental protection, and human and civil rights. Her work is grounded in deep sector knowledge and a practical understanding of what nonprofit leaders need to succeed during moments of transition.
